Hellooooooooo! 🙆 I’m back!
On a personal level, the last few months have been Very Long, but my blog silence is largely due to the fact that I moved into a new apartment! It took two whole weeks to move into my new place thanks to crappy weather, scrambling for vehicles, physical limitations, and plain old unexpected difficulties. Then I had to nurse the knee and ankle I injured while moving. 😱 A few weeks later I was sufficiently mobile to be able to finally set up my new room, and new sewing space.
And what a space! I gained almost 50 square feet and an additional window, plus a night owl roommate who never heard my sewing machine. I couldn’t have asked for a better set up. Heck, I even gained another table! Amazing.
But change requires adjustment, and it wasn’t until after my Halloween draping fail that I finally got used to my new space and began to sew for real. I’ve made a ton of things in the past six weeks, including a brand Vogue 8476 shirt, a pair of purple velvet Burda 6789 pants, and a very old WIP – my Cherry Bruyere.
I look forward to sharing all my new goodies with you. After all the downs and even lower downs of looking for a new place, I’m grateful to have this creative space for as long as I can afford it, haha. Thanks so much for reading Making the Flame and sharing your thoughts on my sewing adventures – stay tuned for more!
