This is a sneak peek of my new top. To say I love it would be an understatement. An accurate statement is that I love it so much that I’m going to sew a capsule wardrobe revolving around it!
Currently I have only one frumpy-ish pair of white pants that match it. But I’ve got visions of a floaty white skirt, lace pants (shorts?), a dark pair of boyfriend jeans, off-white skinny jeans … the works.
As you’ve probably recognized, I used my TNT top pattern for this: McCall’s M6078. BEST PATTERN EVER!!!!! Seriously, it’s a dream come true. It takes just under one yard to make the top in look B, so I always have some scraps to play with. On this version, I used the scraps to band the armholes. On another version of this top I finished the armholes with a double fold and stitch hem, and they’re starting to look raggedy. I figure that on tops with banded armholes, I can remove the bands when they look grody and replace them with new bands — keeping the top fresh and in good condition always.
I attempted to band the hem … and failed. It’s an odd mistake, but I really like it. It makes the shirt, ‘mine’.
Expect outfit pics when I have pieces to wear with it! In the meantime, a taste is all you get. :)
