Collateral Benefit

I am returning to the blog.

I am not returning to the blog because a blogger should blog, or because one who sews needs to share makes with people who ‘get’ them, or even for the boost writers get from having their words read.

No, I’m returning to the blog because blogging has become part of ‘living my life’, so when I’m not blogging, I’m not living. Melodramatic #leolife stuff, but it’s true. Without my normal outside-of-work structure, I stopped living my life. I woke up, went to work, came home, vegged out, slept; day after day after day. It was a slow and gradual soul-otomy that came to a head last night. (Feel free to use ‘soulotomy’ in conversation, royalty-free, even!)

So I’m back, baby. Complete with camera woes, secret wadders, an excess of pattern-ogling (BMV sale happening right now, btw), and whatever else I can throw at this thing. It’s gonna be fun. *evil cackle*

  1. I think pretty much everyone in the Northeast slacked off on blogging sometime after Christmas. What an awful winter…

  2. I know what you mean about blogging = living. It doesn’t matter if no one reads what we post, that self-expression process keeps us connected (to ourselves and the world). Glad to hear your “voice”.

    1. It’s good to be back! My absence was more about life with a capital L getting in the way of my thoughts…it’s so hard to write that way. ;) There has been lots going on behind the scenes, none of which was sewing related, that I’m starting to get a grip on.
