I’ve been a really bad blogger lately, posting after the fact and now missing several days. Naughty! But I’m the confessing type, so here’s my soul bared:
I get really, really nervous when I know I’m about to do something good, and I’ll do whatever it takes to prevent me from achieving that success, or goal, or milestone. It’s a terrible habit I’ve just begun to seriously work on, now that I’m aware of what I’m doing.
As many of you sewers know, BMV just had a sale that ended Monday (June 9). As the clock wound down to midnight on June 10, I found my wish list of Vogue patterns and feverishly reviewed it, looking for winners to add to my collection. Then it hit me: I’d seen all of those patterns before. The day before. And the day before that. And a week before that. They were no longer fresh, new or exciting to me. No amount of examining their lines would get me to buy any of them. It was time to jump ship …
… to Burda. That’s right, sewers! I have found a new brand to stalk!
It’s a little overwhelming to navigate their site — it’s wayyyy snazzier and busier than BMV sites. For example, Burda has collections of patterns which are styled in a theme, like this interesting dress from the Blue Mood collection. In time, I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it and share my finds (and makes) with you.
In the meantime, I am chugging along to 100; this is post number 95. I’ve got at least four outfit posts planned, plus some projects-in-progress posts planned. But what do I do at 100 posts? That’s what has me quaking in my boots. I don’t think I have enough activity on here to warrant a giveaway (also, I’m not a giveaway sort of person), but I feel obligated to do something special. Le sigh. We shall see. In the meantime, I am back in the durned saddle and I’m not letting any silly number define my #bloglife! So there!
(Hopefully you caught today’s song reference above … hint: it’s a photo caption.)
