Maximum Exposure

column on hip

This was my OOTD on Sunday, and I put it on solely because it was hot and sunny and I wanted to expose as much skin as possible to the delicious, never enough, sun and heat.

The skirt is a really simple re-style: I only shortened it using the European jeans hem method. Formerly, it was one of those horridly long, 1980s maxi skirts. I loved the fabric, though; it’s a poly rayon double knit, and it’s got just enough stretch, just enough softness, just enough movement, and it’s smooth and cool to the touch.

ANT(super)M? I think so.

The sleeveless cardi is one of my early makes, back when making a cardigan was the hardest thing in the world. Front shoulder darts are no joke! And this cardi has huge front shoulder darts.

McCall’s M6084 Misses’ Cardigans

It looks a little different on the model, not the least because my fabric doesn’t really drape. It’s a lightweight, grabby cotton knit, but how could I say no to silver polka dots? The trim is a silvery-white poly sweaterish knit that I also used to make my TNT top in look A (not yet shown on the blog). Were I to make M6084 again, I’d indulge in a bamboo or silk jersey in a solid color. Wayyy classier.
