If you follow me on Instagram, you may recognize these shoes from a recent photo. They’re Christian Siriano for Payless, which collection I simply adore. Despite that, I wasn’t 100% in love with these shoes, and was seriously considering returning them until I came up with this outfit.
The reason I was meh about them was because the pink didn’t really ‘pop’ against my skin, which is what I’d hoped for. But in a look like this, wearing a blush pink shoe instead of a white or silver shoe gives the outfit a bit more interest than it would otherwise have had.
I wore this to work and to the theater, and felt like a million bucks! I seriously felt really good. The shirt is my first me-made (I’m sure I’ve styled it for the blog already), and the pants are last season, from Talbots.
You can barely see the necklace, but it’s this crossed arrows silver one, from my recent haul. It has a special meaning for me; when I was a girl, I wanted to be a novelist. I began writing this tween soap opera set at an overnight camp, and asked my brother to draw me a logo (he draws very well). For whatever reason, he actually obliged me, and I’ve held onto that drawing all these years. The crossed arrows remind me of the logo he made.
My cardi is my favorite go to cardi by my favorite new designer, Cynthia Rowley. My friend spotted it on a shopping trip, and I’ve been wearing the heck out of it all spring. One day I’ll have to take a close up of the buttons, they’re my favorite detail about it, besides the perfect fit. My nails are painted a similar shade, called ‘Orange You Going to the Game?’ from OPI‘s new collabo with the MLB (yay sports!).
