Today’s Saturday Musings marks the beginning of a year of giving. My birthday was Tuesday, and as it approached I realized that there’s a lot in my life to be thankful for. I decided to celebrate my good fortune by being more giving and more appreciative of others in all the areas of my life.
I’m often inspired by others in the online sewing community, but never took the time to recognize the creative ladies who give me fabulous ideas — until now!
Moving forward, I’m going to give these ladies their due in a Saturday Musings post. And to make things really interesting, I’m going to be an active admirer and actually try to make some of these great projects.
Without further ado, welcome to Inspiration List #1!
Leos are the kings and queens of the zodiac, but Marcy’s unselfish birthday sewing puts her royalness on a whole new level.
Tasha got all tied up in a striped infinity dress — how about that strapless look? Amazing!
Dawn wasted no time — and no fabric — in making these three stylish garments. The pleated skirt is a great entry to zero waste sewing for the beginner.
Alethia has challenged the Pericrafters to a Wardrobe Builder Challenge this month, using a knit wardrobe pattern — or even separates patterns. It’s like a tiny SWAP!
Ruqayyah and her ThReD and Needles group are sewing #allblackeverything this month. It’s a little bit palate cleanser, a little bit transition into fall, and a whole lot of sophistication.
And lastly but not leastly, Dominica made a gorgeous maxi dress with an elastic back waist. How ingenious is that?!
Hope you check out their work, and maybe find a bit of inspiration for yourself.
