You all know how I geek out about tools and techniques and other such small things, so this should come as no surprise: I’m hosting a sewing challenge for … presser feet!
It all started when I bought a few presser feet on my recent trip, then came home and looked over my whole collection. I had twenty feet! But I definitely did not use all of them, or even half of them. I casually threw out the idea of a challenge on Instagram, Najah of Wanna Be Sewing Something named the challenge ‘Sew With Your Feet’, and I brainstormed the details.

The Sew With Your Feet Challenge is a four-week affair starting July 18 (this Saturday) through August 15, and the goals of this challenge are:
-become familiar with your unused presser feet
-master the presser feet that you find tricky
-expand your creativity through using new tools
Now, if you’re like me, you may not be 100% sure of what all your feet do. Here’s several web resources to get your brushed up and ready for the challenge:

Sew Ready: Machine Basics (free Craftsy class)
Finally, I love giving gifts so this challenge comes with a prize — a $25 gift certificate to Golden Cutting & Sewing Supplies. I’ll pull the winner’s name in a drawing, but there’s a twist — you earn extra chances for each foot you use to complete a garment during the challenge. :) So, use lots of feet to complete a garment and improve your chances!
To sign up for the Sew With Your Feet Challenge, comment below with your name, a link to your blog or other social media info if you have it, and little blurb on what you hope to get out of this challenge (besides a gift certificate, hah). Feel free to use the above badges on your blog, and if you’re on Instagram or Twitter, tag your posts with #swyfc (Sew With Your Feet Challenge). I’ll be reposting content on both platforms, as well as posting weekly roundups on the blog, so stay tuned here and join me on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram. I look forward to seeing what we all learn and create!
