Summer at Simplicity

Simplicity 1366 Misses’ Skirt & Top, Cynthia Rowley Collection

Thanks to Sew Crafty Chemist, I got hip to the recent release of new Simplicity patterns.

Most of my meager Simplicity collection is Cynthia Rowley patterns, and these new releases add to my collection of her wonderful creations! 1366 is by far my favorite, but I’m definitely looking forward to making 1371.

I also liked a vintage pattern which requires that I purchase a very, very supportive strapless or convertible bra. (And in the case of views A and B, raise the back significantly.)

And lastly but not leastly is this child’s backpack pattern. I don’t have children, but I have been wanting a functional backpack for several months now. I think I can make view A sized and styled to be appropriate for an adult woman, what do you think?

I’m not sure how proactive I’ll be about adding these patterns to my collection, but I’m definitely crazy about 1366 look A — especially paired with 1365 look C!

  1. Ok so patterns are $1 at Hancock. I picked up 10 new ones.

Let’s make the backpack soon! I want to but every attempt I’ve made to sew a bag has failed miserably. It’s comical. I want to sew view D because it’s like the bags I see at Target all the time!

    1. What is this magical Hancock’s you shop at??? I think I need to find a Boston area location or equivalent store. I want $1 Simplicity patterns! Heck, I want any $1 patterns. ;)

Anyhoo, a bag sew along would be fun! They’re lots of work, but so useful. Lemme get my hands on this pattern and ping you.
