Wrinkles

I’m a bit of an odd duck. I consistently find beautiful the very thing other people find off-putting (to put it nicely). So it’s no surprise that for years I have envied a friend of mine for having … laugh lines.

I know, I know.

But in my defense, my friend has an awesome personality — really fun, very popular, and she’s beautiful. So to me, laugh lines were a sign that she was light hearted and fun enough to smile and laugh to the point of etching her happiness on her face. Not having those lines, to me, was a sign that I was not fun and did not smile and laugh enough.

So imagine my delight when I was reviewing shots for my post the other day about makeup and discovered that I now have laugh lines of my own! They’re not apparent when my face is neutral, unlike my friend’s, but they’re in full and beautiful force when I’m smiling! I hope with time that I experience more joy and more smiling times … not all wrinkles are bad.
